In recent years, however, kyanite has been found in a variety of colors, including green, aqua, and orange. This time, we were fortunate to encounter a beautiful bicolor kyanite featuring a green base with floating blue bands. Its distinctive appearance is rarely seen. One of kyanite’s charms is the characteristic striations formed during crystal growth. It also has the unusual property of differing hardness depending on the direction, making it a gemstone that requires skilled craftsmanship to cut beautifully. Carefully polished, it reveals a fresh, luscious luster while retaining kyanite’s delicate character. To showcase its beauty, we chose a simple design. Zircon transforms into this beautiful blue when a colorless stone is heated to around 400°C. Each stone develops its own tone, and although the origin of these is unknown, their color closely resembles that of Mogok color-change zircon. With a refractive index comparable to diamond, its brilliance is unmistakably different from any other blue stone. And above all, zircon’s signature “fire” —its prismatic flashes of light— makes this piece shine more than any tiny I’ve created before. Each bead measures about 2.8mm, but due to the button cut, it feels even more delicate—under 2mm in presence. Every single stone is carefully woven so that none of its shimmering facets are hidden. This quiet, meticulous process is a moment of pure joy for me. For this piece, I wove the stones even more finely than before, allowing each overlapping bead to show its vivid color to the fullest. Aside from the model photos, all images show the actual lot you will receive. The stones measure approximately 2.5–3.0 mm, and the clarity and color quality are truly rare to find in recent years. As tanzanite prices continue to rise, this is likely the final restock of this design. Although the earrings measure 17 cm in length, the natural weight of the tanzanite allows the line to fall straight and elegant, with the chain draping softly at the shoulder—an intentionally calculated length. This balance keeps the piece from interfering with the face line and makes it remarkably comfortable to wear.
