カイヤナイトと聞くと、
深く澄んだ藍色を思い浮かべる方も
多いかと思います。

近年では、グリーンやアクアカラー、
オレンジなど、さまざまな色のカイヤナイトが見られるようになりました。

近頃は質の良いカイヤナイトとの出会いも少なくなりましたが、今回偶然出会うことができたのは、グリーンをベースにブルーバンドが浮かぶ
美しいバイカラーカイヤナイト。
なかなか目にすることのない、特別な石です。

カイヤナイトならではの魅力のひとつが、
結晶の成長によって生まれる独特の縦筋。
さらにこの石は、
方向によってモース硬度が大きく異なるという
珍しい性質を持っています。
そのため宝飾用ルースとして美しくカットするには、熟練した職人の高い技術が必要とされ、
希少価値も高くなります。

今回は更に表面にローズカットを施すことで
カイヤナイトの独特の表情に
エッジの効いた煌めきを存分に感じていただけます。

When you think of kyanite, you may picture its deep, vivid blue.
In recent years, kyanite has also been found in beautiful shades such as green, aqua, and even orange.
High-quality kyanite has become increasingly difficult to find, but this time I was fortunate enough to discover a truly special bicolor kyanite, featuring a soft green base with a beautiful blue band. It is a rare gemstone that is not often seen.
One of kyanite’s unique characteristics is its natural parallel striations, formed as the crystal grows. It is also unusual because its hardness varies depending on the direction of the crystal. For this reason, cutting kyanite into a beautiful gemstone requires exceptional craftsmanship, making fine pieces especially valuable.
To highlight its unique beauty, I chose a rose cut that enhances both its distinctive texture and brilliant sparkle.
